About Kerba

Eric William Bast.

JD · MPP · BSc · ASQ CQA candidate

Eric has spent fourteen years in medical device and biologics clinical research for sponsors, across clinical operations, regulatory affairs, and post-market surveillance. He has worked on more than 20 clinical trials, including in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Argentina, and South Africa.

His work for sponsors has supported regulatory approvals, including a BLA approval and an IDE approval, and he managed the clinical data for the first FDA Section 522-mandated post-market study in the United States.

He has led clinical operations for pivotal randomized controlled trials, supported sponsor, clinical site, and mock FDA BIMO inspections, and led CAPA development and responses to findings. He has revised more than 300 SOPs for industry, including full quality management system revisions for ICH E6(R3) and EU MDR. He has also designed and implemented post-market requirement studies and designed post-market clinical feedback strategies for more than 50 product lines.

Eric created Kerba Solutions in 2026 to expand his offerings across clinical development. The name Kerba is in memory of his father, Kerry Bast. Once an Airborne paratrooper, Kerry lived with a long illness. He was determined to return to a normal life, but this would not come to pass. When Eric hears the word “patient,” he still thinks of his father. He is passionate about improving the quality of life, and protecting the dignity, of patients who live with illness and injury. He does this by partnering with firms large and small to support beneficial clinical development that advances the standard of care.
